According to Datamonitor estimates, graduate and professional mortgages have grown at a fast rate over the past five years, however, this high growth rate can be attributed to the market's small size.
The professional mortgage market has become increasingly competitive as new lenders have entered the market over the years. Players are differentiating themselves by the features they offer, as well as on price.
On price, Datamonitor found that graduate and professional mortgages are not particularly competitive. While they do go some way in competing against 100 per cent advances, they are not among the top performers in the market, particularly against standard mortgages with high LTVs.
