This class consists of units mainly engaged in farming dairy cattle and milk production. This industry is made up of a large number of relatively small dairy farms, the majority of which are family-owned and operated. There are dairy farms in all Australian states, however dairy farming is concentrated along the east coast and southern states, due to favourable climatic conditions.
