The gases are extracted from the air by a process of separation or are produced by chemical synthesis. Key inputs are electricity and natural gas. They are then supplied to a diverse range of customers including industrial, medical and specialized users. Industry participants are not involved in the manufacture of ethane, butane or chlorine gases.
