This profile includes companies regardless of whether they are private or publicly owned. However contributions made to the state social insurance are not included. This report excludes managed care companies classified in the Managed Health Care sub-industry. Market value reflects gross written premium (GWP) for life and health insurance.

The market share is calculated on the basis of direct premiums written (GWP) for life insurance prior to cession to the reinsurers. Premium volumes have been converted to US dollar at the 2006 annual average exchange rate.
