| Wireless adult content in Australia |
|
|
Spend on rich media mobile adult content in Australia is currently tiny. For all operators except 3 Australia , concerns about possible negative brand impact have been compounded by the technical difficulty of deploying an adequate age verification mechanism. 3 Australia is the only operator to have a fully defined offering, which it has expanded since our previous coverage in March 2005. Many of the drivers to adoption of adult content are in place. However, age verification remains a problem. Continued delay here will result in many content providers (and users) moving off-portal. This has its own risk of backlash in the high data traffic fees currently levied by all operators for off-portal traffic.
