The output value of the home textile industry amounted to RMB 654 billion in China in 2006, up 20% compared to 2005, but the growth rate was 1.65% lower over 2005 and 5% lower over 2002. In addition, the output value of China home textile industry increased 2.7 times from 2001 to 2006, and the CAGR was 15.39% in the 7 years.
Currently, China has become the largest home textile export country in the world; the average growth rate of export annually was about 30%. In 2006, the home textile product export volume amounted to USD 18.557 billion, accounting for 21-22% in the total output value, meanwhile, the export in 2006 increased by 20.63% y-o-y, which was a bit higher than 18.84% of the export growth of textile products.
From the aspect of region, the top 5 countries and regions on China home textile export value were America, EU, Japan, Hong Kong and UAE, and the accumulated export value towards the five amounted to USD 12.473 billion, accounting for 67.21% of the total.
