Présentation de l'étude de marché - Description & Table des matières
 Retail trade Market in USA

The Retail Industry, one of the largest industries worldwide, is the second-largest industry in the United States both in number of establishments and number of employees. The Retail Industry employs more than 22 million people and generates more than $3 trillion in retail sales annually. Single-store businesses account for over 95% of all U.S. retailers, but generate less than 50% of all retail store sales. Gross margin typically runs between 31% and 33% of sales for the industry but varies widely by segment. Total retail sales for the first quarter of 2002 were estimated at $743.8 billion, an increase of 2.7% from the year 2001. With very slow population growth and low inflation, many companies are facing difficulties. Companies are more focused on productivity and other cost reduction initiatives in an effort to maintain acceptable levels of growth in profitability.

This report defines the Retail Trade market and describes the industry trends and statistics for sales and percentage change in sales over the past few years. The report also encompasses estimated regional sales across United States.
