IT Services Contracts Monthly Roundup - January 2008

Introduction

An analyst-based report on the contracts signed in the previous month, with graphical representation of key activity by volume and value for industries and IT services domains. The analysis will highlight any significant deals and compare activities to the previous 12 months, highlighting contracts up for expiration.

Scope

  • Covers global markets, including North America, EMEA and the emerging markets in APAC and Latin America
  • Covers all deal types in all IT services domains, including infrastructure, applications and BPO

  • Highlights

In January 2007, the majority of high-value IT services contracts was predominantly driven by governments and telecoms services providers, these two verticals accounted for nine out of the top 10 deals during the month.

The key trends observed for the month of January 2008 include: IT services contract activity increased in January after the year-end slump; in January 2008, infrastructure management and maintenance/support remained IT services cornerstones; government IT spending remained constant across geographies.

Other trends include enterprises preferred short duration deals signed for an average period of up to three to five years; IT service contracts signed in the Asia-Pacific region showed significant volume growth; and a few application development and management contracts are expected to expire by August 2008.

    Reasons to Purchase
