| Production & Market of Cornstarch in China |
|
|
Cornstarch is processed and refined from the kernels of corn by using a series of steeping (swelling the kernel), separation, and grinding processes.
The production of cornstarch in China originated from 1950s. Now the corn planting and the production of cornstarch, and the related industries, are all rather prosperous in China. Cornstarch industry now is big and has many downstream application fields in China, and most of the producers are located in North China.
The competitiveness of Chinese cornstarch producers has been greatly enhanced in the past few years and has aroused the world's attention. Apparently, China's cornstarch industry will impact the world cornstarch industry more significantly in the future.
Even though the output of cornstarch is huge in China, the supply of cornstarch is still tight. It is because that cornstarch has so many downstream application fields. As the inflation in China becomes serious in 2007, the export subsidy to many important cash crops and related products, including the corn and the corn starch, have been cancelled.
The increasing production of corn starch will not stop in the short run. It is apparent that the China’s production of corn starch will have great impact on the world market.
CCM has ever done a lot of work on this subject and obtained considerable credible data. In this report, the consumption of cornstarch industry is analyzed by consumption segment breakdown. The production data of cornstarch are analyzed by province to ensure accuracy. And most of big producers are carefully researched. The other sections, including the technology and and production processes, are both presented in detail.
